MAHC Redevelopment Project

The Muskoka Almaguin Ontario Health Team (MAOHT) has not had an official role in the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) redevelopment project. However, we do actively partner with MAHC and other local healthcare providers on various projects, services, and programs to improve healthcare outcomes for the community.

The redevelopment of the MAHC hospitals is guided by the MAHC corporation, which operates independently under its own governance. MAHC is led by an independent community board of directors that collaborates with the MAOHT at the governance level.

While the MAOHT is dedicated to collaborating with all system partners, the capital process is solely within the purview of our independent healthcare partner organizations. MAHC has held sessions with MAOHT leadership, similar in format and timing to the community events and OHT endorsement is not a requirement of the Ministry of Health capital process.

The MAOHT remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance healthcare services for the community through continued collaboration with health and social service partners.
